The Position: We’re looking for a Design Assurance Team Lead that will support the Design Assurance group in the ensuring and validating that products from the engineering department perform as intended, are of high quality, and are configuration controlled.  This position resides in the Design Assurance group within the engineering department.  This position reports to the Engineering Manager.


  • Validate that engineering products are of desired quality prior to deployment, ensuring correct functionality, performance evaluation, regression testing, and stability.
  • Develop and execute test plans and detailed test cases based on requirements.
  • Document test results, tracking any outstanding issues to closure.
  • Assist engineers in data collection, investigation and resolution of problems.
  • Configure systems for test and maintenance of the engineering labs and equipment.
  • Evaluate and recommend test tools.
  • Validate that products for test and/or release are from the correct controlled baseline, including independent build of software products, physical and software configuration audits.
  • Collect and analyze defect data for categorization and trending.
  • Perform configuration management activities engineering documents
  • Perform tasks related to the product change order (PCO) process such as, ensuring RFCs and PCOs are routed and processed appropriately, assisting as necessary in data collection for new RFCs, and data collection for types and sources of RFCs.
  • Prepare for and support Change Review Board (CRB) meetings.
  • Ability to travel (domestically and internationally) up to 30% of the time.

  • Bachelor or Associate of Science degree in related field or a minimum 10 years relevant experience.
  • Expertise & experience testing complex hardware/software systems in a structured environment.
  • Expertise & experience in version management tools such as Subversion, CVS or MS SourceSafe.
  • Expertise & experience in testing User Interface software in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Expertise & experience in configuration management.
  • Expertise & experience in defect and quality tools, such as ClearQuest and Test Director or other ALM tools.
  • Experience with Test Automation tools
  • Expertise & experience in MRP tools such as QAD or SAP.
  • Expertise & experience in MS Word, Excel and Visio.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work with individual team members to build an effective high performing team.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and to lead a team.
  • Must have good communication skills required to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hard-working, goal oriented and with a high level of energy and enthusiasm; able to operate efficiently, effectively and professionally within a fast paced, dynamic and results driven business environment.
