Job Description

Great opportunity to join a leading manufacturer in the area as a Mechanical Design Engineer. The individual in this position is responsible for representing Mechanical Design Engineering during the dispositioning process of discrepant material.

The individual is also responsible for dimensional integrity when reviewing and processing first article documentation. Additional responsibilities could include participation on quality and process improvement teams.

Ability to be proactive and work in a fast paced Manufacturing environment is mandatory. 

The successful candidate will be able to work well with various groups such as Design Engineering, Materials Engineering, Machinists, Drafters, Configuration Management, Quality, Purchasing and Suppliers.

The candidate should be able to multi-task and prioritize their tasks to provide timely customer support.

Requirements: Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Manufacturing Engineering or closely related degree is required.

Minimum of three years Mechanical Design experience required in product/ tooling design.

Additional Minimum requirements:

(1) Ability to read Engineering Drawings and understand design intent

(2) Knowledge of ASME-Y 14.5M-1994 Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

(3) Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) applications.

(4) Ability to read and interpret results from CMM reports

(5) Basic knowledge of Materials & Processes such as Plating, Heat treatments and test methods.

(6) Basic knowledge of Manufacturing Processes for investment castings, sand

The ideal candidate should have experience in the following skills-sets and tools: ProE/Creo (or related CAD system), Windchill, Baan, Excel and technical writing.
