Job Description

Volt is currently seeking a Entry Level Design Engineer.

Candidate Responsibilities

Complete tasks related to electrical engineering/harness design work for new and improved designs on large mining dump trucks. Will work with electrical/wiring subject matter expert engineer as mentor/work assigner. Goal to complete design tasks to meet design freeze set by project plan. Provide regular updates on work progress.

Typical Day

Design process could include: participate in team meetings to update status and clarify requirements, work on modeling concepts and design in TeacmCenter/Creo, facilitate analysis by other teams as needed, present concepts/designs in design review meetings. Work with detailing team to instruct and review harness and wiring group drawings. Work with product team to provide inputs and status in project plans tracking to design freeze dates.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology required. Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.

Technical Skills

2-4 years of experience required. 1 years of 3D modeling experience required. Ability to understand and apply engineering standards for harness drawings and electrical requirements preferred. Previous Caterpillar modeling experience or Pro-E/Creo proficiency highly desired. Differentiating factor: More years of experience in Pro-E or Cat experience

Soft Skills

Ability to speak/understand native English speakers, communicate and work effectively in a team environment, complete tasks independently, present ideas and concepts via presentations and discussions, ask questions and bring up roadblocks to completing work tasks. Ability to communicate technical ideas and ask questions in English required.
