Job Description

Volt is looking for a Deskside Technician for our client at the Reston, VA location.

The onsite technician will follow a customer defined process to upgrade users in place to Windows 10 machine. Approx. 2600 total devices (2000 Windows, 100 Mac, 500 Windows Secondary). Initiate DRUVA backup. Deploy Apps with AirWatch. Work with user 1:1 to educate on W10 basics. User will have attended training prior. Remove old device and stage for disposal.

Supporting a Windows 10 deployment

 Primary Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot desktop operating system, application errors and PC hardware issues. Troubleshoot minor server-hardware issues. Manage trouble tickets from inception to closing, includes tracking resolution progress and updating customers on ticket status. Provide OS and database maintenance. Set up and maintain user desktop environments; relocate and set up peripherals as may be required. Order, inventory, and return IT parts and equipment as needed. Maintain printers; troubleshoot issues.

 Qualifications:

H. S. diploma or GED A+ certification. 2+ years support experience that includes the following: User desktop setup Windows, MAC, UNIX, and/or Linux OS HP and/or Dell server hardware Active Directory or Novell networking

 Related Skills and Competencies:

Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer interface and documentation. Organizational and time-management skills with ability to multitask effectively. Ability to learn new technologies.
