Job Description

Volt is currently hiring for a contract to hire Desktop Support Specialist for our client located in Springfield, MA. The Desktop Support Specialist will evaluate business problems, identify and specify the application and/or systems requirements, evaluate vendor packages ensuring their needs are met and implement required software and hardware. In addition, you will consult with business area management and staff on the usage of end user computing systems and network-based PC/workstation software and hardware, systems security, recovery and back-up procedures. You will participate in the evaluation of new end user computing packages, including remote connectivity products, and equipment, implement and test prototypes, apply installation quality assurance tests, and assure consistency with standards for the location.

Basic Job Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of business application requirement identification
  • 2+ years PC hardware and software experience
  • High school degree plus at least 2 years’ experience working with networks and/or software for end user computing systems
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Computer QA assurance testing experience
  • Vendor evaluation experience
