Job Description

Volt has partnered with a large IT services company is search of a Desktop Support Specialist to sit on-site at a financial services client of their's in NYC. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration and ongoing support of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software.
  • Ability to work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
  • Ensuring desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including file servers.
  • Diagnosing and returning failed hardware, working with vendors as necessary on RMA’s and fixes.
  • Ordering, inventorying, and returning IT parts and equipment as needed.
  • Managing trouble tickets from inception to closing, includes tracking resolution progress and updating customers on ticket status.
  • Quality Management Standards  Uses best practice methods.


  • H.S Diploma
  • A+ Certification
  • 3-5 years support experience that includes the following:
  • Experience and technical background in Windows 
  • Troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktops and laptops
  • Installing software, patches, updates on desktops and laptops
  • Troubleshooting basic network, software, printing problems
  • Basic server hardware experience
  • Experience with ticketing systems (such as ServiceNow or Remedy) a plus
  • Must have experience with SSCM for imaging
  • Enterprise experience preferred
