Volt is seeking a Development/Research Engineering Specialist to work onsite at our client’s facility in Mossville, IL.  This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.  

Within this role, you will:

  • Research, design, and develop mechanical devices
  • Build and execute plant models and controls
  • Follow section modeling standards and processes
  • Manage tasks and due dates
  • Share lessons learned and present analysis results with work group

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
  • Two to four years of plant modeling experience; to include experience with multi-discipline plant modeling (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engines)
  • MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow experience
  • Ability to query CREO solid models
  • Knowledge of version control systems, such as ClearCase, GIT/IVY and/or SysDM

A strong candidate will also have:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
  • Ability to learn complex transmission shift control strategies
  • Ability to learn in-house proprietary 1D analysis tool, Dynasty
  • Ability to execute Dynasty-MATLAB cosimulation
  • Ability to review, interpret, and plot simulation and test results
  • Python experience
  • Experience with commercial plant modeling tools such as AMESIM, GT-Suite, etc.
  • Construction equipment operation knowledge

*** This position is located in Mossville, IL.  Candidates must be able to relocate to this location at their own expense. ***
