Job Description

Volt's client is searching for an DevOps Instructor to develop and deliver complex training programs in a virtual environment.  This position puts you in the forefront of our client’s rapidly growing markets in Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).

This is a REMOTE,  DIRECT HIRE job opportunity with 30% travel including both Domestic and International.

In this role, you will be interfacing with various teams and customers while transferring your knowledge around technologies.  You will have the opportunity to interact directly with other engineering groups and our training development team to ensure applicability and accuracy of training material.  When you are engaged in knowledge transfer, you will have the opportunity build out your product knowledge, either by working with our design teams to understand the offering and technology or self-learning.  This role would also allow you to evaluate and monitor effectiveness and content validation for on-going life-cycle maintenance.

Required Skills

  • Experience in software development and programming
  • Experience with Agile Software Development Methodologies
  • Experience with source control management tools such as git as well as Linux-based build systems and source repository tools
  • Competence in scripting languages and technologies such as Python, Bash, Regular Expressions, JSON, Jinja and RESTful programming.
  • Experience with deployment automation tools and related technologies: docker, chef, puppet, ansible, netconf, YANG etc
  • Linux navigation skills, with some shell scripting
  • Experience with Collaboration and Development tools: Agile-JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint, Bitbucket
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, along with SW development and architecture concepts
  • Knowledge of network element protocols (TL1, CLI, SNMP, NetConf) and SDN/NFV concepts and standards, including YANG model
  • Virtualization: OpenStack / VMware and knowledge in L2 - L7 networking (switching, routing, application level networking)
  • Web services and technologies, such as HTTP, REST, and JSON
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with various customers and team members
