Job Description

Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking a Digital Service Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Peoria, IL. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.

As a Digital Service Engineer, it will be your responsibility to support the Digital Project Lead. In this capacity you will ensure proper functioning of the customer’s fleet and provide continuous monitoring to proactively identify and resolve issues. You will also be expected to provide continuous improvement as it relates to tools, processes and people.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure successful operation and reliability of end customer’s telematic systems and processes
  • Monitor dashboards and reports for the customer fleet, including CAT and 3rd party OEM/telematics
  • Respond to notification and alerts, acting as the first line of defense to identify customer issues
  • Provide initial investigation into the issue
  • Occasionally present high-level or in-depth connectivity progress results to team members and/or internal CAT process partners
  • Submit support tickets to record the issue being faced, along with relevant information such as Customer, Site, machine SN, etc.
  • Work within the extended product support team to determine root cause and ultimately propose corrective actions to correct the issues
  • Work closely with Project Management team to track, document and schedule corrective actions/solutions
  • Work with and support the Digital Project Lead regarding the necessary customers/sites
  • Leverage advanced quality initiatives such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Leverage FMEA to troubleshoot current issues
    • Record new issues that were previously unrecorded
    • Determine priority for focused permanent corrective actions (PCA’s)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer)
  • Ability to troubleshoot telematic systems and applications
  • Experience using issue tracking systems and tools (Salesforce)
  • Understanding of project planning methodology
  • Experience with Failure Mode & Effects Analysis
