Title:  Director, Process & NPI Engineering 

We are currently looking to add a Director of Global NPI and Process Engineering-Heliax to our team in Richardson, TX or Joliet, IL; with our Richardson location being strongly preferred. 

JOB SUMMARY:

This role provides leadership and direction to the Global Heliax Engineering Process and NPI organization. Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people from all cultures is required to lead the global engineering team.   Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build cross-cultural teams primarily located in NAR, Europe and Asia.  International travel will be required in this position.

This role will be at the forefront of bringing new products to market working with design engineering, procurement, quality and sales to ensure that our products are delivered at the right price, right cost and right time for our customers.    Additionally, this role will drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain with emphasis on design for manufacturing, improved quality, productivity, reliability and scrap reduction.   

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manage & develop NPI and Process Engineering teams to support Heliax operations.
  • Centralize control and ensure global compliance for process and NPI of Heliax operations
  • Define and implement engineering strategy and processes for deploying new products to multiple production facilities globally.
  • Lead Design for manufacturing reviews.  Best practices / lessons learned feedback to design. Influence manufacturability in design
  • Manage Process Engineering to evaluate potential new processes for producing parts and sub-systems to improve cost, reliability & quality
  • Define key manufacturing cost drivers and influence designs
  • Create engineering strategy that aligns with the business plans for each product.
  • Develop teams to use statistical analysis to prove-in and evaluation of process capability while the new products are being introduced at the various manufacturing locations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with strong preference for Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical or Industrial) or Business degree
  • Successful candidate must possess 10+ years engineering experience.
  • Successful candidate must possess 3+ years engineering management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and background in process/continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated capability in taking new products to market, proven experience collaborating across functional lines including R&D, supply chain and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred Experience in production and Assembly of:

  • Coaxial RF Cable manufacturing
  • Cable assemblies or RF Cables
  • Connectors RF Cable Assemblies
  • Outdoor Fiber Cable Assemblies
  • Power Cables

Background in Fiber Manufacturing and Termination
