Job Description

We are looking to hire a Disassembly - Process Technician (Aerospace) for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Burlington, ON for approximately a 4 months' contract, through Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

Reporting to the Supervisor, as the Process Technician, you will be responsible for disassembling major and minor components, including hydraulics, electrical and wiring. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Disassembles major components and shock struts under the guidance of the Lead Hand. 
• Disassembles minor components, hydraulics, and wiring in accordance with overhaul manual instructions. 
• Removes close tolerance and press fitted parts using hydraulic presses and special tools. 
• Maintains the complete department filing system, general material listings, and master routings 
• Interprets blueprints and overhaul manuals for disassembling purposes. 
• Take complete inventory of gear including taking pictures before disassembly. 
• Perform configuration of landing gears. 
• Record all discrepancies. 
• Record and complete all paperwork for scrap components. 
• Use SAP system to enter all required information and numbers. 
• Safely operates overhead crane as required. 
• Operates hand/hydraulic press and manual lathes as required. 
• Cleans parts by vapour degreasing and using special solvents in accordance with overhaul manual specifications 
• Use manual lathe to repair tooling when needed. 
• Unpack landing gear and related components when required. 
• Follows housekeeping and safety practices applicable to the department. 
• Wears company-provided personal protective equipment designated for this department. 
• Performs other duties as required 


• Minimum High School Diploma or approved equivalent 
• Minimum one (1) year work experience in heavy industrial setting (experience with landing gear components preferred). 
• Previous disassembly experience is an asset 
• Able to work other shifts as required 
• Able to work in a fast-paced team environment 
• Self starter with initiative and the ability to work independently 
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
