Volt is seeking a Dispatcher for a long term position in Santa Maria, CA!

Tasks Will Include:

  • Assigns drivers and collectors to routs and special pickups for complete and timely services.
  • Arranges alternative coverage of service in case of employee absence or equipment failure.
  • Acts as conduit to gather and distribute information to drivers (via 2-way radio, telephone and service tickets) from Customer Service, Maintenance, and manages the communications to ensue completion of tasks.
  • Routes drivers for efficient operations.
  •  Receives customer requests and schedules service.
  • May respond to customer questions and complaints about service including discussing issues with drivers in order to understand the situation.
  • Resolves disputes involving employees and employee representative.
  • May investigate and report on workers injuries, vehicle accidents, and other incidents.
  • Completing and printing off reports, logging and documenting orders, proficiency in Microsoft office.

Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.

A typical way to qualify is:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

• Two years experience as a dispatcher or related position is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
