Job Description

Volt is seeking a Distribution Associate-2nd Shift to work within the Velocity Center environment to provide quality and timely service to our customers. The Warehouse Management System (WMS) and handheld RF scanner will assist the employee to receive, store, pick, pack and ship all stock accurately. Equipment used includes powered material handling equipment, hand and powered banders, computer terminals and manifesting systems, stretch wrap and shrink-wrap machines. Load and unload freight using powered industrial forklift trucks or hand pallet jacks. Receives stock by visually comparing stock number and quantity against a receiving document. Stores stock in picking and reserve locations using both hand and powered material handling equipment. Physically counts and verifies stock in picking and reserve locations, and counts bulk stock using a counting scale. Processes customer orders by picking stock from pick locations, visually verifying stock number and quantity against the information displayed on the handheld RF scanner. Packing stock into shipping cartons. Operates handheld RF scanner, hand and powered banders, computer terminals and manifesting systems, shrink-wrap and stretch wrap machines, etc. Verify items that were picked for a customer through an audit process. Perform job functions following all documented procedures safely and accurately.

Requirements: HS diploma or equivalent. Overtime as required. Ability to read, & write. Basic math aptitude. Good communication skills. Ability to frequently crouch, kneel, stand, stoop, and walk. Ability to walk up & down stairs/ladders. Ability to occasionally balance, climb, crawl or sit. Use of hands & fingers, ability to reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to regularly hear and talk. Ability to use computer terminal. Ability to use handheld RF scanner. Ability to follow directions. Must be dependable & flexible. Emphasis on continuous improvement Prior warehousing, material handling, shipping/receiving, computer terminal use and/or forklift experience is preferred.
