Job Description

Sr. Drafter - Lynnwood, WA

Complete, check, review and/or release design documents and document changes in accordance with defined procedures. Develop and implement procedures and processes for the design, drafting, checking, and configuration control of drawings, specifications and other documents.

Responsibilities:
• Assure consistent use and the accurate application of design drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) on assigned work and through the review /audit of engineering design department documents.
• Complete or review product fit and clearance analyses.
• Train others on design drafting and GD&T through constructive feedback on checked work and through effective training programs (GD&T, ASTM Y 14.5, etc.) to establish a high level of competence in personnel.
• Complete or review, approve (by signature or electronic approval) and assure configuration control of all final assembly drawings, sub-assembly drawings, detail drawings, bills of material, design changes, and other documentation.
• Support configuration control and change management of documents in accordance with Aerospace Group, site and related procedures.
• Responsible for customer document control in accordance with defined procedures and procurement of Government specifications and standards in accordance with Aerospace Group, site and related procedures.
• Complete department activities and assignments within approved department fiscal and project budgets.
• Support, manage, create and/or implement procedures through effective communication, training and oversight. Resolve issues that arise and work to refine and enhance processes to be more effective and be more efficient for users.
• Analyze and evaluate compliance with established internal and customer-imposed procedures, methods and requirements. Participate in internal and external audits and review requirements flowed from Contracts to ensure processes meet requirements.
• Monitors the PDM life cycle flow of new drawing/specification releases. Supplies customer packages for ECO approvals based on marketing requirements while maintaining a customer hold area of ECO’s out to customers for approval.

Requirement:
• Experience: 7 + years of progressive experience in Design/ Drafting, Configuration Management, Change Control and checking of Aerospace (or similar) products.

•Knowledge: MS Office Word products; drafting/3-D Solid Modeling (Pro/E a plus); PDM Systems; Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); Manufacturing Processes

• Skills/Abilities: Mechanical aptitude; leadership ability; communication skills

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent
