VOLT’s client is looking for a Drupal 8 Developer (Remote)

This is an estimated 12 month contract with an initial 2 weeks required onsite in Tri-Cities, WA. and offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support many of the top rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.

The hired contractor will augment an existing team in completing the redesign and implementation of client’s internal web presence built on the Drupal 8 platform.  Tasks will be directed by a technical lead and the contractor will be expected to engage daily with the rest of the team to collaboratively complete work scope.

Tasks will require the contractor to have Drupal 8 theming skills in order to style and create content types, nodes, paragraphs, and page layouts. Consistent with the agile approach, each stage of the project will require approval from the project team and assigned technical lead before moving on to the next stage.

The bulk of the work will be done over a six-month period, with staff working offsite full time (after an initial 2 week training period on site at PNNL).  There is 90% possibility of follow on work, which is why the period of performance is set for one year.

Required Skills (Drupal Specific):

  • Minimum of 3 years of development experience in Drupal
  • Minimum of 2 year of development experience in Drupal 8
  • Drupal 8 Theming, including the ability to style and create content nodes, paragraphs and page layouts
  • Demonstrated ability to innovatively solve technical challenges using Drupal 8
  • Experience building sites with common Drupal modules such as Views, Search API, Services, Feeds, and Features
  • Experience writing custom Drupal modules
  • Experience developing responsive Drupal templates
  • Experience using Drush
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PHP, Javascript, AJAX, etc.
  • Experience developing in a LAMP based architecture
  • Experience with multisite set up and implementation

Required Skills (Additional):

  • Experience in the design and development of custom collaborative web applications and web services;
  • Fluent in Object Oriented Programming concepts
  • Fluent in basic web languages with as HTML, CSS, XML, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English).
  • Possess a willingness to transfer skills to other team members
  • Knowledge of Continuous Delivery Tools (Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GIT)
  • Experience using GIT to manage/share code with a team of developers
  • Familiarity with Agile, Lean or ITIL practices;
