Job Description

Eco-Friendly growing company is seeking an entry level EH&S Specialist, full-time position. This is a great opportunity for an entry level candidate to gain on the job experience.

The EH&S Specialist initial project will be to assist with the development of machine specific energy control procedures, data input and gathering.  In addition, will assist the EH&S Manager with inspecting the workplace, inspection report data input, storm water sampling, and minimizing or eliminating hazards from any unsafe process as well as ensuring the site is compliant with all environmental regulations.

Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

Assisting the EH&S Manager with the following:

  • Development of machine specific hazardous energy control procedures in compliance. with Cal OSHAs Lock Out Tag Out requirements.
  • Formulating and suggesting work safety standards and enforces procedures.
  • Coordinating safety committee meetings and helping develop training material.
  • Storm Water sampling.
  • Developing safety and environmental programs.
  • Supporting the implementation of engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
  • Reviewing process-operating procedures/records and providing input for safety and environmental considerations.
  • Driving employee engagement and participation as it relates to safety.
  • Performing other related EHS duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills

  • Associates degree in a technical field (2-5 years' experience).
  • Bachelor's degree (or a few semesters away from obtaining) in safety sciences or engineering preferred. Entry level candidates welcome.
  • Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps etc.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
