VOLT’s client is looking for an IT Support Specialist (EIM).

This is an estimated long-term Contingent/Temporary position in Spokane, WA. This is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support many of the top-rated IT companies in the US!

Job Description

This role is part of a new operational team that will provide both tier 1 and tier 2 production and performance support for our Energy Imbalance Market application systems and their respective technology platforms. This role takes technical lead on application availability, performance and optimization, working alongside our developers and business partners to deliver a great user and customer experience

Responsibilities

  • Learn, understand and document how all the systems work together, including EIM data flows and integration inputs and outputs
  • Own and manage operational issues from discovery through resolution and prevention efforts
  • Troubleshoot and identify the source of an issue, resolve if possible, escalate to proper development team or business unit if necessary
  • Responsible for user experience of production applications
  • Work closely with business partners and software development teams in a matrix organization structure
  • Automate tasks to reduce manual work, reduce outages, and enhance customer and employee experience
  • Communicate and resolve complex production issues and implement preventative measures
  • Implement and tune monitoring, metric collection and alerting
  • Identify opportunity and implement the automation needed to address and prevent operational issues
  • Work with other SREs to drive standards and consistency around best practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, systems administration, or software engineering
  • Must possess background in application and infrastructure support, with strong communication and analytical skills
  • Experience working with automation and instrumenting monitoring toolsets such as AppDynamics and Splunk
  • Experience working across multiple technology stacks such as C# development, API services, cloud micro-services, Microsoft TFS, SQL, and other proprietary systems
  • Experience leading teams through complex technology incidents and problems
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study; equivalent experience may be considered as well
  • Professional and/or technical certification preferred
