Electrical Assembly Technician

Volt Workforce Solutions is looking to identify an experience Electrical Assembly Technician for a temp to hire opportunity with a company in the hydraulic, pneumatic and automation control systems.  The chosen candidate will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager. The position will be responsible for the assembly, light fabrication and testing of Industrial Control Panels. The Technician must operate in a flexible, proto-type environment. Among other responsibilities he/she will:

  • Assist Engineer in proper layout of system
  • Assemble components of an Industrial Control Panel (Motor Starter circuits, PLC control circuits, generic control circuits)
  • Wire electric motors and field equipment (level switches, filter indicators, etc.) to the panel.
  • Plumb explosion-proof conduit, including all fiber-glass work.
  • Test all equipment as required and fill out test reports and ensure proper Test and Inspection of our Industrial Control Panels to meet the high-Quality Standards of our Customers.
  • Provide input to the Design team as to the final assembly and recommendations for future units.
  • Provide support for in-house panels and test equipment.
  • Adhere to company policy (Safety, Attendance …).
  • Performs regular Preventive Maintenance and 5S Housekeeping activities.
  • Provide input for Continuous Improvement within the Manufacturing area (Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Productivity, Training, and Job Satisfaction).
  • Promotes a TEAM environment.


  • Minimum: Education equivalent to High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Desired: Associates Degree, two-year training program or combined equivalent education in a Technical Field or Electrical Training Program.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of ‘hands-on’ experience in the production of Industrial Control Panels.
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in lay-out and wiring of Industrial Control Panels
  • Ability to solder electrical connections
  • Product knowledge of electrical components used in Industrial Control Panels
  • Professional communication skills to ensure effective meetings and workshops with our Engineering and Materials areas.
  • High level of commitment towards Customer Satisfaction.
  • Experience in an ISO9001:2000 or QS9000/TS16949 environment preferred
  • Experience and/or exposure to Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering principles and methods preferred.
  • Experience in Cell Manufacturing in a Just-In-Time environment preferred.
