Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Cambridge, MA

Status: 5-month contract

Job Description:

Our client that is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that specializes in construction products including concrete and cement additives, building materials and technologies that ensure specified quality and enhance business productivity, is seeing an up and coming Electrical Design Engineer.


  • Supports the design and development of electromechanical hardware systems for use on 12/24 VDC vehicles.
  • Use an understanding of Electrical Architecture to understand the system from controls logistics standpoint (mechanical design is already laid out)
  • Understand project management and to complete project on one’s own
  • Produces documentation necessary to support production (i.e. test procedures, bill of materials, schematics, cable drawings, etc.
  • This position is much closer to a technical solution it does not involve complex circuit board development.


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering 
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant design experience with low voltage (12/24 VDC) electrical system design including, electrical architecture, component selection (sensors, relays, circuit protection, switches, etc.), wire sizing and harness design using CAD or related tools.
  • Experience developing electrical drawings for production.
  • Experience performing electrical design analysis and testing in laboratory environment.
  • Experience building electrical systems and wiring harnesses for prototype testing.
  • Experience electrical design engineer to support new product development and testing
  • Product development experience and have dealt with components


  • Experience designing to EMI/EMC best practices. 
  • Experience working with high current DC electric motors (up to 80 amps) and off-the-shelf programmable controllers and IO modules.
  • Experience programming in C++
  • Experience with CAN protocols
