Electrical Engineer - Battery Electric Vehicle,  Denton Texas 

This manufacturing company located in Denton, Texas which is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of premium light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates is seeking an Automotive Electrical Engineer for a full-time, direct role.

The client also designs and manufactures advanced diesel engines, provides financial services, information technology, and distributes truck parts related to its principal business. The company is recognized as a global leader in the commercial vehicle, financial, and customer service fields with internationally recognized brands. The company is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of high-quality light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks.

The company designs and manufactures advanced diesel engines and also provides customized financial services, information technology and truck parts related to its principal business. The selected candidate will create prototype and design of electrical and electronic components and systems for commercial vehicles. Integrate new emerging technologies into vehicle architecture. Perform the design and development of assigned elements of: wiring harnesses, routings and guides system level schematics or other embedded electronic control modules. Provide interface documentation to wiring design, system architect(s), and mechanical design group. Coordinate with electrical validation team to certify new product and process. Stay abreast of emerging industry trends in the field of commercial vehicle electrical development and technology. Manage processes to maintain schedule, budget, and functionality.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a BSEE or equivalent degree required; graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline preferred. Over 5+ years design of automotive or commercial vehicle electrical systems or industry-related background desired.

Experience in design and application of automotive wiring harnesses, automotive electronic control modules, switches, driver input devices, and HMI elements. Experience in wiring design using Mentor Graphics. Knowledge of DC power distribution, management, protection, fusing, and routing systems, practices and tools desired. Proficiency using Systems Engineering tools, Pro/E or other 3D CAD software also desired. Engineering knowledge of heavy duty commercial truck safety systems, regulation in the areas of: operating, service, and performance environments.

Experience creating engineering documentation including preparation of component and harness drawings, diagrams, and routings. Willing to learn and to use new engineering processes and techniques and to be resourceful in solving complex technical problems. Experience in product development. Ability to work in a team environment. Familiar with personal computer software including tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Results oriented and a willingness to grow personally and professionally.
