Electrical Engineer/Technician 

This company in Tukwila, WA, (near Seattle) which manufactures innovative load moving equipment, utilizing wheels and hovercraft technology, that move heavy, awkward, or delicate loads in factories is seeking an Electrical Engineer. The right person for this job will have a firm understanding of electronic controls and PLC programming, be able to communicate complex issues with team members and customers alike, and enjoy the challenge of rolling up their sleeves and making a measurable impact on the business. Work within the Engineering Department to research, design, test, create, and support our products. Must maintain familiarity with all activities related to the development, design, and use of load moving structural systems focusing on the use of specialized company air casters. Installation, tuning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. This includes work in our facility and also under field conditions. Creating and working with schematic drawings, fabrication drawings, technical specifications, and other literature common in a manufacturing environment to determine work procedures. Assure that all products released to manufacturing are properly documented. Identify areas for improvement and well thought out methods of implementing the improvements. Manage projects and direct resources to meet scheduling and budget goals.

Physical fitness to work under, inside, and around large equipment while performing installation, removal, or testing of components occasionally weighing over 70 pounds. Must occasionally work in a shop environment using power tools to install equipment. This includes wiring, control boxes, sensors, and electro-pneumatic components. Clearly and professionally communicate with customers in-person, over the phone, and through e-mail. The ideal candidate will be able to serve as a company representative during technical presentations. Must be available for worldwide travel. Follow projects through from concept to installation. This position requires a very well rounded technical skillset. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a BSEE or BSET or comparable experience preferred. Must possess 5-10 years in industrial products, including electronics design and programming. Machinery, pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems design experience a very big plus. Must have the technical knowledge and vocabulary to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, manufacturing personnel, and engineering staff.

Experience with various PLC controls and programming software. Proficient in the use Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project, as well as familiarity with CAD/modeling software. SolidWorks experience a big plus. Must possess the strong desire and sound judgement to complete goals on schedule. Track record of successful field work and knowledge among various industries. Ability to safely and efficiently perform hands-on assembly work. Intimate knowledge of mechanical fabrication, assembly, repair, and design processes. Familiarity with Aerospace, Clean Room, and Medical manufacturing practices a plus. Must be able to work and communicate effectively with customers.
