Job Description

Volt Design & Technical Services (DTS) has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer - Test Lab Coordinator to work onsite in at our client’s facility in Milwaukee, WI.

The Electrical Engineer - Test Lab Coordinator will work on the customer’s premises supporting the needs of the Electrical Test Lab and the Electrical Test Supervisor.  The Electrical Test Lab Coordinator will be responsible for interacting with the customer’s electrical and electronic component vendors to ensure their knowledge and adherence to the customer’s verification and validation requirements.  The Coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining and tracking test plans, test results, and compliance with customer’s performance standards. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-develop and review electrical component test plans with customer’s development team and suppliers
  • Provide status of test plans, test execution and test results to customer’s leadership team and suppliers
  • Review test results for accuracy and communicate findings to customer’s development team
  • Communicate electrical component test process requirements to customer’s stakeholders, including development teams, suppliers and external test laboratories
  • Request, compile and review test quotes from external customer approved test laboratories
  • Maintain database of electrical component test plans submitted for approval, status of test plan, and approved test plans by customer’s identified functional area / supplier
  • Maintain database of electrical component test reports by customer identified functional area / supplier
  • Occasional travel to support, observe, or troubleshoot product testing at vendor or supplier.  Total travel will be less than 10% and domestic to the United States

Key requirements:

  • BSEE in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of related experience on product development team in an automotive or similar application
  • At least 3 years of experience as technical team lead
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with machinist fabricators, stakeholders, internal and external suppliers
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experienced in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)


  • Experience working with external vendors or service providers
  • Knowledge of quality assurance as related to prototype product development processes
