Our client, and American aerospace and defense multinational corporation, is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a background in CAD design in the planning of wiring harnesses for our major defense customer in Sterling Heights, MI.  The selected candidate will work from 8am to 5pm in Sterling Heights, MI for 12 months.  Please note that there is occasional travel with this role.  Job duties include:

General Dynamics is seeking Electrical Engineer with a background in CAD design in the planning of wiring harnesses for our major defense customer in Sterling Heights, MI.  Job duties include:

  • Working with systems engineers to define whole vehicle pin-level interconnect
  • Working with physical architects to define harness routing scheme
  • Developing vehicle harness designs
  • Working with CAD designers to route vehicle harnesses
  • Collaborating with CAD designers on harness drawing release
  • Collaborating with CAD designers on drawing release for electrical installations, interconnects, and elementary wiring diagrams.

Position Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 1 to 3 year of applicable post graduate experience.
  • Ability to lead multi-engineer projects and balance cost/schedule/technical priorities
  • Occasional overtime, and weekend hours may be required to complete critical tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Capital desirable
  • Experience with Pro-E Creo desirable
  • Experience with NX desirable
  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • CAD, Chassis Wiring, and Point to Point Wiring

This is an estimated 12 MONTH temporary position in STERLING HEIGHTS, MI that is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions.  Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.  Position is subject to U.S. Government Contractor hiring eligibility requirements.  No third-party vendors.  Pay is commensurate with experience.
