Job Description

Volt is in search for an experienced Electromechanic for a metal plating company in Orange County.

Summary

With limited direction from the General Manager, prioritizes work, handles urgent requests as required, and completes any and all assigned facility support, inspect the premises regularly, conduct routine maintenance, perform repairs, and fix faulty wiring when necessary, clean-up, maintenance, moving, event support, set-up, and repair work. Will also be responsible for the general upkeep of the building’s electrical systems. Assist and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structure of buildings and grounds by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct physical inspection of the facility, grounds, premises, hallways, common areas, restrooms, electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures noting anything that may need repair, maintenance, clean-up, or is a hazard and reports them to the General Manager.
  • May need to conduct minor repairs to the facilities and premises as assigned including painting, patching of: office, kitchen, and production equipment, walls, ceiling, tiles, carpeting, floor tiles, etc.; may coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades.
  • Helps to ensure all building and maintenance policies, procedures, codes, regulations (OSHA, etc.) are followed and enforced including safety systems and standards
  • Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or systems operation problems.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
  • Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hand tools, or power tools.
  • Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
  • Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment and other components so that they remain at full functioning capacity.
  • Ability to review blueprints
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments, welder or electrical or electronic testing devices.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Safely maintains, installs and repairs heaters, pumps and motors in or near water and electricity. 
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Assist identify, select, and manage outside contractors for facility maintenance and improvements.
  • Be available to expand skills through continual training and train maintenance techs as needed.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus technical school education or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong background in machine maintenance, electrical certification, troubleshooting skills. (e.g. CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred.
