Electronics Lab Soldering and Sample Preparation Tech - 6 mo - Lisle, IL

Volt Workforce Solutions is searching for an Electronics Lab Soldering and Sample Preparation Tech for our client based in Lisle, IL..  This is a 6 month contract with our client in the interconnectivity and electronics solutions business and they are looking for great people to grow with them. With general supervision, you will prepare test samples for standard and complex product validation tests of electronic connectors, cables and electronic solutions products.

  • Prepares test samples and assemble test boards using hand, wave, and convection re-flow soldering processes.
  • Assemble product and label product for product validation testing.
  • Perform optical and optical microscope inspections on completed PCBA assemblies per IPC-610A.
  • Sets up and operate standard and custom test equipment including various electrical parameter measuring devices, temperature/humidity chambers and optical microscopes.


  • 2- year Associate's degree in a technical field focused on electronics technology or 2+ years professional experience in a laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of Windows/MS Office applications.
  • Ability to operate standard electrical/electronic test equipment.
  • Current IPC-A-610 certification specialist.
  • Ability to perform light assembly operations including hand soldering skills.
  • Ability to read and understand industry standards and apply appropriate test methods accordingly.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Can handle multiple tasks simultaneously and respond to competing priority demands.
  • Ability to keep a working lab neat and organized. 


  • Focus on EE technology
  • Previous experience in an electronics laboratory environment.
  • Experience with SMT soldering processes.
  • Quality assurance experience in an electronics and/or electro-mechanical company
  • ESD trained
  • Demonstrated knowledge of failure analysis.
