Job Description

Volt is currently seeking a Embedded Controls Engineer.

Candidate Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: • Development, maintenance, and execution of automated regression tests in a dSPACE Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) test environment utilizing test automation tools developed in Automation Desk and/or Python scripting languages • Debugging system and software issues found in Lab or Proving Ground environments and ensure timely resolution of resulting machine software issues • Maintenance and troubleshooting of test bench hardware & software issues • Working with internal suppliers to integrate plant models of machine hardware that provide broader coverage of machine software testing via closed loop HIL testing • Helping to improve documentation tying specs to software test results and improving overall regression coverage over time • Interacting and collaborating with a wide range of engineering groups and professionals to develop innovative tools and processes to increase lab test effectivity
This position will support our LWL Systems Integration Test Team

Education Requirement
• BS or 4 year Technology degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science discipline (MS preferred but not required)

Technical Skills
Required Qualifications: Must have • At least 1 year experience development or testing of embedded controls. Desired Qualifications: • At least 1 year experience developing software in ANSI C, C++, or Python or Performing Automated Software Testing • dSPACE Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) based testing including Automation Desk (Preferred but not required) • Python scripting (Preferred but not required) • Automated regression testing of software (Preferred but not required) • Construction equipment development or test (Preferred but not required) • Critical thinking to discern ways in which embedded software quality can be improved via test automation methods and innovations required for effective lab software testing
