Are you an Embedded Python Developer that is looking to work in a collaborative cutting edge work environment?   

Do you have experience programming firmware software for devices such as smartphones, cameras, PC mother boards,or TV remote controls etc? 

If so, come join our team at Volt Workforce Solutions. Volt is working with a client that is located in Austin, Texas. This opportunity is a long term contract position with a possibility of going full-time.

The Python developer will design, build and develop automated tests and maintain infrastructure that enables delivery of high-quality software, in collaboration with top-notch scientists, software developers, test architect and hardware engineers.


  • Design and develop automated tests for firmware and tools. Build long-term solutions that are sustainable and salable across different types of firmware and tools.
  • Work with different engineering teams (onsite and offshore) to identify and develop enhancements to existing Python automation frameworks
  • Design and develop new stand-alone test tools if required
  • Setup and generate automated test reports
  • Debug and analyze defects in the automated tests.
  • Participate in test failure triage and diagnostics
  • Create software and hardware infrastructure necessary to automate the tests

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • BS or higher in EE, CS, or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience in software development or testing.
  • Proficient in Python scripting and test automation
  • API automation testing experience
  • Prior experience with design and development of automation frameworks
  • Background in embedded systems
  • Experience with different continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Capable of understanding requirements specifications and hardware system descriptions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to react well to changes; work with teams spread globally and multi-task on multiple products and projects.
