Job Description

 Embedded software development engineer.

In this position, the engineer will be responsible for design, development, and deployment of input/output and diagnostic features for Large and Medium Wheel Loader applications.  

  • develop embedded software using a combination of C and Matlab as well as a variety of tools, such as Trace 32, CANape, and oscilloscope, to unit test software prior to releasing. 
  • will require an understanding of hardware, software, and a variety of testing techniques. 
  • require good communication skills and the ability to work with the extended engine team to finalize requirements, clarify implementation details, and troubleshoot software issues found during testing.

Job Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Designing, developing and testing embedded software for diesel engine systems 
  • Analyzing software requests and proactively working with team members to finalize requirements
  • Conducting software design reviews and other quality checks
  • Troubleshooting software issues  Assisting with efficiency improvement initiatives as needed 

 Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
  • At least one year of industry experience in embedded software development
  • Proficient in C programming
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work in team environment 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of  CAN, SAE J1939, Ethernet technology.
  • Experience with the following tools:
  • GIT
  • Trace 32 Debugger
  • CANalyzer 
  • CANape
  • 3 to  5+ years of embedded software experience
