Job Description

Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Mossville, IL. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year. This position will work in both an office and lab environment.

Responsibilities of this Embedded Software Engineer include:

  • Lead the development and integration of the steering/braking sub-systems on various machine products
  • Work cross-functionally to establish sub-system requirements and to select electrical/electronic and hydraulic components that meet performance, reliability, and cost objectives
  • Design, construct, and maintain a steering/braking sub-system bench
  • Perform bench testing of the steering/braking sub-system and work with the Validation & Test groups to develop regression tests
  • Provide tuning support and guidance to machine proving grounds personnel
  • Resolve NPI and CPI issues
  • Document conformance to ISO standards


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Hydraulics Engineering, or Mechatronics
  • Background in component (electrical/electronic or hydraulic), sub-system, or system product development
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and machine level problems
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and presentation)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with embedded software development tools such as Matlab Simulink, Matlab Stateflow, GIT, and ClearCase
  • C++ Programming
