Volt is seeking an Emissions Equipment Deployment Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Mossville, IL.  This is a contingent position forecasted for 12 months.  This role facilitates the deployment of new emissions equipment and technology into the engine development lab and provides oversight of the performance of existing equipment and processes.  This role covers all emissions measurement equipment including gaseous and particulate measurements and requires an understanding of the application of EPA regulation.

Within this role, you will:

  • Evaluate new products, processes, and systems
  • Contribute towards the long-term capital forecast
  • Manage equipment life cycles
  • Evaluate new emissions technologies
  • Create process documentation
  • Develop and deliver training material
  • Collaborate with global teams
  • Monitor Emissions Reliability (Run Hours Per Defect (RHPD))
  • Perform root cause analysis
  • Identify trends and failure modes
  • Lead projects to improve reliability on all emissions equipment
  • Analyze data to identify problems and make recommendations
  • Oversee day-to-day operations within the Emissions Support area

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in emissions or instrumentation measurement, electronics diagnostics, or electronic system design
  • Strong initiative and demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information across multiple levels of the organization
  • Excellent teamwork, customer focus, and planning skills

A strong candidate will also have:

  • Understanding of EPA regulations
  • Experience in an engine test laboratory
  • Engine development experience
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar products
  • Demonstrated leadership traits
  • Knowledge of engine components and function
