General Maintenance, Weekend Work-$29.60 an hour for an industry leader in Eagan!

Looking for a skilled Maintenance worker that can work independently. Engineering background is a plus! Additional skills that we are seeking would be experience with equipment reliability, and automation.

This is for a weekends only role.  As for hours, the candidate will need to be flexible between 1st and 2nd shift (6:00 am – 10:00 pm) depending on need/gap.

This plant is scheduled to close in Q4Y18 and is offering a retention bonus to all contingents that remain on assignment until  client determines they are no longer needed. Contingents receive $100 towards each month they work, with a maximum of $1,200 and a minimum of a $300 (as long as they stay until end of their assignment). So if they you work for 11 months, you will receive $1,100. If you work for 2 months,you would  receive $300. 

**Eagan is a purification plant and while time entry is still handled through Beeline, a second invoice will be generated. If you are not currently set up to receive Purification Invoices, the staffing consultant will provide the necessary paperwork to ensure payment is sent to your company.

Summary of Job Responsibilities

Applies advanced technical skills to provide electrical/mechanical/PLC support for:

• Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of facilities and production equipment.

• Development and implementation of maintenance procedures and techniques for a safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant.

• Analyzing available data to improve the equipment maintenance plan.


The candidate for this position shall possess the minimum qualifications stated below:

• Must possess a high school diploma/GED or higher.

• Must possess a 2-year degree from an accredited college in an electrical/mechanical related field: machinist trade, industrial, diesel or hydraulic mechanics, converting automation, robotics, or management approved equivalent.

• A minimum of 2 years of direct maintenance experience, or a demonstrated advanced aptitude.

o Mechanical and Electrical design & operation o Equipment reliability improvements as it pertains to mechanical design o Hydraulic & pneumatic principles o Mechanical drive system repair, modification, and design o Lubrication principles and effectiveness • Demonstrated history of good customer relations, communication skills, customer satisfaction, and working well with others.

• Must possess and have a demonstrated history of good documentation skills.

• Must possess and have a demonstrated history of computer fundamentals and necessary applications.

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints. Including, but not limited to: knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic symbols and nomenclature.

Principal Responsibilities:

Applies advanced technical skills to the following (but not limited to):

• Responds to maintenance priority list.

• Facilitates all assigned work orders.

o Emergency work order (safety related) - immediately.

o Project work orders.

o General work order.

• Performs troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improve mechanical equipment and components.

o Works with management/supervision and production on planning and scheduling of activities.

o Works closely with engineering groups/management to design, install, and debug, electrical/mechanical solutions.

• Troubleshoot, maintain and improve pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.

• Perform basic machining.

• Maintain pumps.

• Perform millwright tasks.

o Moving material, equipment, and machinery using standard methods of lifting, rigging, hoisting, blocking, skidding, and rolling.

• Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks.

o Use proper material joining and cutting process techniques. Fabricate and repair machine parts.

• Purchasing of parts and maintaining parts crib.

• Troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical equipment. These tasks may include, but are not limited to:

o Replace and wire motors.

o Replace fuses.

o Replace or adjust micro switches, proximity switches, photo eyes, etc.

• Perform Preventative Maintenance.

o Perform EHS and EHS critical (one week) in timely manner.

o Perform preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment, lifting, hoisting, and material handling equipment, safety devices.

o Set-up PMs on new equipment, update PMs on existing equipment, and review cycle time of existing PMs.

• Redlines, updates, and archives all associated drawings.

• Perform miscellaneous tasks:

o Complete shop records and use reporting system following established procedures as required for effective performance of the job or operation of the department.

o Maintain a safe work environment.

o Perform housekeeping tasks.

o Perform miscellaneous or general maintenance work as required.

o Assist in check out, debug and start-up of new equipment as needed.

o Support engineering/management in projects (reliability, Green Belt, etc.).

o Attend/participate/lead in meeting structure where applicable:

• Use safe working methods and procedures always to avoid personal injury, injury to co-workers, or damage to company property.

• Report unsafe work conditions, practices, or equipment hazards to management immediately.

• Approach co-workers if an unsafe act or condition is observed and discuss possible safe alternatives.

• Complete all required EHS and regulatory training.
