Maintenance Technician II – 2nd shift – 12 month contract – Rockland, MA

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a qualified candidate for a Maintenance Mechanic located in Rockland, MA.  The Maintenance Mechanic will be performing diverse duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  Our client is a global science company that never stops inventing, working with customers to create breakthroughs. The Maintenance Mechanic works with moderate work direction, and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving. Provides engineering support and services for manufacturing and leads small projects where applicable. Has general knowledge and understanding of engineering organization, knowledge control technologies and uses best practices, methods and concepts within assigned projects.

Job Responsibilities: Major duties are listed but not limited to the following:

• Perform job in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company safety and quality policies exercising independent judgment while paying close attention to detail

• Communicate with all levels of staff

• Work independently or as a team

• Keep work area clean and orderly maintaining 5S standards

• Accurately report information manually, electronically and/or verbally by answering questions from production staff

• Perform preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on production, lifting and facility equipment

• Locate sources of machinery problems by observing, listening, utilizing test, equipment, and PLC software and conversing with operations personnel

• Possess and display a strong knowledge of trouble shooting skills for the following: Utilization of a PC and software to monitor PLC operations and correct equipment problems, monitor/replace AC and DC motor drives utilizing PC software, transmitters, transducers, controllers, calibration of control loops, indicators, HMI screens, guiding/steering units, temperature and volume controllers and other electronic control devices associated with production and facility

• Must possess and display a strong knowledge of and trouble shooting skills for the following: mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC and DC control circuits and devices, AC and DC motors and drives, solenoids, pumps, switches, motor starters, gas analyzers, hoists, material handling equipment, and other components of production, facility, and/or material handling equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work 2nd shift M-F 2:00p - 10:30p

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Mechanical Technology

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in manufacturing maintenance environment

• Ability to obtain a MA State PIV M.G.L. c. 146 § 53 Hoisting Operator license

• Ability to operate fork trucks, cranes, scissor lifts and other mobile equipment (NOT required)

• Ability to use measuring and test devices and the use of power and hand tools

• Proficient in reading plus interpreting drawings and schematics

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
