             Seeking Manufacturing Engineer II

Volt is actively recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer II to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Monroe, NC. Position is temporary to hire for the right candidate. Candidates will need to be available to work 40 hours weekly.

The ideal candidate will support the SCBA sub-assembly and final assembly areas with respect to tooling and fixtures, manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production efficiencies. The Manufacturing Engineer must be a company leader in lean manufacturing initiatives, quality systems, root cause analysis, fixture and gauge development, automation, process optimization, and continual process improvement.

Duties Include:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably: Manufacturing, Industrial or mechanical
• Self motivated while working in a team environment
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
• Root cause analysis skills
• Experience with the creation of work instructions and controlled documents

Preferred Qualifications:

• Requires 4 to 7 years of related experience.
• Problem solving experience
• Cell Layout
• Project management/participation
• Lean Manufacturing experience
• Automation and assembly experience
• Experience with high pressure air systems
