Job Description

Volt is hiring for Quality Engineers to work with leading manufacturing client in Monroe, NC.

This is a hands-on role requires a thorough understanding of manufacturing process engineering, in order to apply engineering principles towards process re-design and optimization. The person in this role should have strong communication skills and is able to work effectively with manufacturing operators and leadership, as well as maintenance, quality, and product development personnel in a high paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Technical Contributions.
• Following the Zero Defects Initiative (ZDI), perform the following:
a. Collection of failure data from sources such as Scrap, Rework, Warranty, Customer Complaints, Capability Studies.
b. Update PFMEA based on analysis of data collected.
c. Perform line by line of updated PFMEA review on the production line.
d. Update CP and Operator Instructions based on Risks Identified.
e. Develop, validate and implement error-proofing techniques to mitigate risks identified in PFMEAs.
• Manufacturing Engineer - Ability to develop and implement mechanical and electrical testing to quickly identify defects, and digital programming and visualization solutions to mitigate High Risk issues identified in ZDI.
• Quality Engineer – ability to effectively facilitate and participate in PFMEA reviews, conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA), gauge Capability Studies, and process capability studies on processes/equipment, and communicate results to management both verbally and in writing.
• Participate in QA meetings
• In-depth understanding of statistical methods.
• Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
 

Basic Qualifications:
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum five (5) years of Manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Must have hands on working knowledge of the following skill sets:
Problem Solving
APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
MSA (Measurement System Analysis) (GRR’s)
Capability Studies
SPC
GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Computer Skills (Word, Lotus Notes, Lotus 123, Freelance)
