VOLT has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking an Entry Level Engineer that has 1-2 years of experience working with product design to work onsite in Mossville, IL. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.

Candidate Responsibilities

In this entry-level engineering position, you will build your technical expertise while learning product development through practical application. You will also build your professional network, engage with peers and receive guidance from mentors in engineering disciplines. You will have the opportunity to learn from and contribute to a cooperative team in the design of new global products and processes.

This position is responsible for using product data to assist design engineers in improving product design and increasing value to the end customer. The work will involve problem solving for large diesel, gas and dual fuel engines used in a variety of applications.

Typical Day

• Analyzing product data incorporating emerging technologies

• Analyze data to answer specific design and validation questions

• Investigate new methods for problem solving and data analysis

• Assist in the development of new tools for analysis and communication

• Support advanced analytics to assist in product design and increased product value for customers.

Education Requirements:

• Four-year Bachelor's or master’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum

• Minimum GPA of 3.3

Technical Skills

• Interest in using data and analytics to solve problems

• Experience with use of programming in Data Analysis


• Mechanical engineering

• Strong proficiency in statistical methods

• Proficient in one or more programming languages – Preferred: Matlab, Python, SQL

Soft Skills

• Strong technical and problem-solving skills

• Good written and verbal communication skills

***This position is in Peoria, Illinois. Candidates must be able to relocate to this location at their own expense. ***
