Job Description

Volt is looking for a PDP Quality Engineer to work on site with our client John Deere, in Ankeny, IA.

**CANDIDATES WITH MASTERS DEGREES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPENING.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Participate, generate, validate, facilitate and/or conduct Quality Plan Levels, Design Reviews, System, Design, Process FMEAS, Design Process and Assembly Reviews, Gage R&Rs and Capability studies for components and assemblies
  • Prepare process/ assembly control plans
  • Review and approve PPAPs
  • Support virtual and physical builds
  • Perform Routing Quality Assessments (RQA) and Process Quality Assessments (PQA) for virtual and pre-production builds
  • Prepare audit and inspection plans and audit check sheets
  • Create and approve temporary deviations
  • Create NCCAs for all required corrective action requests derived from various quality planning activities and various build events
  • Execute problem solving tools (3L5Y root cause analysis, Fishbone, Critical to Quality, etc.).

Required Skills:

  • We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/ Technology discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as FMEAs, DPARs, Control Plans, PPAPs
  • Experience with GD&T and blue print reading
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Ability to work flexible hours during physical build times (i.e. longer shifts and/or weekends).
  • Ability to travel for field trips, domestically, up to 25%
