Job Description

Position: Engineer, R&D

Location:  Atlanta, GA

Status:  6-month Contract

This role is for a junior engineer position working within the Manufacturing department while reporting to the R&D department. This roles supports manufacturing processes for medical devices, including failure and complaint analysis, part obsolescence, and multiple small projects to update product designs and procedures.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Support product development efforts by performing clinical-systems and human factors engineering tasks such as investigating, defining, analyzing, documenting and testing activities associated with the development of specific projects.
  • Analysis and/or interviews to determine the requirements/constraints on the assigned portion of the system
  • Has the ability to apply technical, clinical and marketing understanding of issues to bring tasks to resolution within assigned projects.
  • Applies engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems.
  • Use technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing and coordinating clinical-systems engineering assignments.
  • Use the most effective, cost efficient and best practices to execute processes.
  • Routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best practices to execute processes.
  • Also includes testing, researching and building manufacturing tools within the specified department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering  
  • Experience with electrical hardware that involves mixed signal, digital, analog, and RF circuitry
  • Technical writing skills
  • SolidWorks - required 0.5 - 2 years
  • Experience in the medical device industry w/design control or design verification
  • Electrical component-level troubleshooting  
  • Able to perform layout construction and evaluation of a variety of Printed Circuit Boards, fixtures, and tools – (preferred Altium)
  • Experience with Windchill Project Lifecycle Management system, or similar, for Parts, Documents, Change Activities, Change Orders, BoMs, DMRs
  • Experience with SAP Material Master, Material BoM, Routing
