Job Description

Sr Manufacturing Engineer – 12 mo Contract – Westford, MA

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer for a 12-month contract with a medical device client located in Westford, MA. 

The Sr Manufacturing Engineer will design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures in order to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality. This is a hands-on position and will require frequent visits to the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects which include new production equipment, process improvements and cost reductions while supporting new product introductions
  • Provide guidance to other engineers and technicians
  • Provide technical mentorship to engineers and technicians Conduct Process FMEAs and Process Validations
  • Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput through the use of Lean manufacturing concepts
  • Coordinate the design, procurement, build and debug of tooling, machinery and test equipment
  • Work with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability

Requirements:

  • Candidates must minimally have a BS in Engineering or one of the physical sciences to be considered
  • The ideal candidate must have catheter manufacturing experience
  • Experience in lean and six sigma methodologies are a must for the position. Training to Six Sigma Green Belt level minimum
  • Fiber optic experience is a plus. Experience with SolidWorks, SAP, Windchill, Minitab, is a plus.
  • Be innovative, resourceful, and work with minimal direction
  • Have excellent organization, problem solving, communication, and team leadership skills
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Support all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements
