Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is partnering with an industry leader to hire a Chemical Industry Sales Manager for their Shakopee or Houston TX location.

Our client offers a comprehensive line of measurement instrumentation, analyzers and systems which are used in a wide range of applications found in critical processing facilities such as refineries, chemical plants, power plants, pipelines and more.  Cutting edge, state of the art technology to digitize chemical plants.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a chemical plant and has previous sales experience OR the desire to use their technical experience and business savvy to develop and communicate our solutions effectively at high levels in clients organizations.


Area Product Sales Leadership:

  • Communicate and facilitate implementation of business unit sales strategies within a sales area.
  • Participate in project pursuit and account penetration planning and execution.
  • Provide direction on target accounts based on business unit segmentation strategies.
  • Assists in providing training to various sales channels to ensure high levels of product/application expertise exist.
  • Spend at least 30% of the time traveling with sales persons and meeting face-to-face with customers.

Product Line Planning:

  • Provide input regarding the marketplace and product competitiveness.
  • Identify and communicate new products and/or enhancement to existing products and solutions.

Strategic Planning Input:

  • Provide input on major competitor strategies within the industry segment and identify regional market opportunities for products and solutions.
  • Contribute to market segment definition and establishment of divisional position within a segment.
  • Communicate and support business unit strategies and provide ongoing feedback on success of strategy implementation.
  • Participate in forecasting activities and maintains responsibilities for achieving established sales goals.

Additional Information

Travel: This position will require both international and domestic travel. Estimate this position to have  30% travel.


  • BS in Engineering or Technical discipline is required.
  • Seven (7) years of related experience
