Job Description

Right now, we are seeking an Engineering Designer to create and maintain electrical and mechanical documentation, and use SolidWorks to create and maintain solid model parts, assemblies and drawings

Sound Interesting?  Here are some specifics:

  • Use Mentor Graphics PADS to create and maintain PCB designs and layouts
  • Use SolidWorks PDM to: create and edit file relationships; set document properties; maintain revision control
  • Create and modify bill of materials (BOM) in material requirements program (MRP)
  • Generate technical data package and redlines for engineering change orders (ECO)
  • Create and process ECOs to support initial release and changes to production released documentation
  • Revision control, approval and release of controlled engineering documents in PDM and MRP system
  • Assign drawing numbers, part numbers and various other document tracking numbers
  • Assist in the creation and updates of ISO documents, including Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions

What you need to succeed (Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements):

  • Must have expertise in SolidWorks and Mentor Graphics PADS
  • Must have thorough knowledge of SolidWorks PDM
  • Must be skilled at using MRP systems for BOM creation and modifications; identifying part usage; generating reports; researching parts
  • Must have thorough understanding of engineering change control
  • Must know how to read and interpret documentation for CAD, 3D modeling, BOMs, PCB, schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Must work to documented ISO process and procedures

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat
  • Have good critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Learn and apply company standards to assigned work

  • Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems
  • Perform in an expeditious manner while maintaining quality results
  • Have a high level of initiative and the ability to work both in a team environment as well as independently
  • Effectively interface with all internal departments as well as vendors

Required Education:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering department. 
  • Must have an Associate’s Degree in Electro Mechanical Drafting and Design or related major
