Volt is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for our Fortune 500 client for the Monroe, NC location

Manufacturing Engineer, Operations Engineering
Position Overview:
Supports the SCBA sub-assembly and final assembly areas with respect to tooling and fixtures, manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production efficiencies. The Manufacturing Engineer must be a company leader in lean manufacturing initiatives, quality systems, root cause analysis, fixture and gauge development, automation, process optimization, and continual process improvement.

Position Duties:
1. Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
2. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
3. Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
4. Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.

Basic Qualifications:
• bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably: Manufacturing, Industrial or mechanical
• Self motivated while working in a team environment
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
• Root cause analysis skills
• Experience with the creation of work instructions and controlled documents

Preferred Qualifications:
• Requires 4 to 7 years of related experience.
• Problem solving experience
• Cell Layout
• Project management/participation
• Lean Manufacturing experience
• Automation and assembly experience
• Experience with high pressure air systems

Core Hours: 6am-4pm

Works with moderate work direction, and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving. Worker performs engineering work related to planning, devising, or adapting methods to improve manufacturing production.
