Job Description

The Project Manager position’s main responsibility is to oversee and manage projects through development and other engineering related tasks.  The focus of this position is to effectively create, implement, and manage the project scope and development schedule through the new product development process. The new product development process includes but is not limited to mechanical design, electrical design, validation, marketing and production integration of new lighting solutions and related products. This position requires an individual that is highly organized with drive, ambition, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.  Must have strong leadership skills and effective communication for interdepartmental collaboration and communication. The project manager is responsible for the overall performance to plan and program success.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems or processes to meet requirements. 
  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement procedures, resolve issues, or provide technical information. 
  • Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification. 
  • Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems. 
  • Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems or needs. 
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications. 
  • Write performance requirement, specifications, and project scope for product development or engineering projects. 
  • Coordinate with materials team to track & manage tooling & prototypes.
  • Oversee testing and validation of new designs.
  • Coordinate product launch with sales & marketing teams.  Support in generation of marketing documentation.

 

Skill Set:

  • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Design — General knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Systems Evaluation — Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
  • Technology Design — Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs.

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • BS in Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Excellent English written, and verbal communication skills required
  • Experience in a project management role. Min 2yrs
  • (preferred) Experience with product development
  • (preferred) Engineering or other technical experience in a manufacturing environment
