Job Description

Engineering Technician

This company in Hillsboro, Oregon which is an American semiconductor company that designs, manufactures, and supplies radio-frequency systems and solutions for applications that drive wireless and broadband communications, as well as foundry services is seeking an Engineering Technician.

The selected candidate will use manual and automated techniques to characterize RF power amplifier modules using equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, power meters, DC power supplies, digital pattern generators, and a variety of microwave components. Document test procedures and measurement results. Configure test equipment setups for various types of specialized RF test methods given general direction and guidance. 

Collect, validate, and present measurement data. Support design engineers with measurement requests. Assemble and modify microelectronic semiconductor devices, components, and subassemblies according to drawings and specifications using: die plating, die attach, wire bonding, small surface mount attach and flip chip bonding.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate  should possess an Associate’s degree in technical field or equivalent military training. Possess at least 3-5+ years' experience in RF test, including power amplifier and semiconductor test in a design characterization environment. Working knowledge of RF circuits and transmission lines.

Proficiency in use of the following equipment: RF signal generator, spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer, power meter, DC power supply, oscilloscope, arbitrary waveform generator, digital pattern generation, and other microwave components.

Proficiency is use of Excel or other data processing and presentation tools. Excellent organization skills, plus good verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will be organized, a self-starter, results-oriented, with the ability to work both as a team member and independently. Candidate must be willing to take an 11 question quiz/ written test given to them by the recruiter over the phone as part of the interview process. This position is a swing shift position (3:00 pm-11:00 pm). The selected candidate will start out first on 1st shift for at least a week for training before moving to the second shift.

Key points:

The hiring manager is seeking someone preferably an AAS degree and experience in RF testing and electronics. Someone who can use test equipment. The candidate also must have experience and be proficient in MS Excel for tracking sheets and processing data.
