Job Description

Our client is seeking an engineering technician to work at their Greensboro, NC location.  The manager is open to candidates right out of school at entry-level or experienced candidates.  Knowledge of bench equipment or testing and PCB components is needed for this role.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Duties are to assist the Application engineers with work that is focused on RF amplifiers, switches, LNAs, diplexers, filters and Front end Modules for WLAN applications. Specialties include supporting analog, RF components designed on consumer end products.  Applicant will work closely with business unit and field application engineers in performing a wide variety of highly complex electronic duties in testing, debugging, and documentation.

Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Perform testing on client evaluation boards and client components designed on customer's Boards.
  • Working from schematics, diagrams, and/or written or verbal instructions to assemble and test RF circuits and systems.
  • Setup, maintenance, and calibration of an RF test bench and network analyzers.
  • Tuning of RF circuits to optimize performance and meet customer specifications.
  • Assisting in determining methods or actions for continued quality improvement.
  • PC board layout, design and testing as needed.
  • Familiar with basic digital electronics
  • Soldering components using a microscope.
  • Collecting, filtering, and documenting large amounts of data and present end results in a power point format.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic understanding of electronic component operation.
  • RF engineering specialty preferred or the desire to learn RF engineering
  • Soldering of small surface-mount components
  • Working knowledge of signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters.
  • Experience with troubleshooting electronic assemblies.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
