Job Title: Facilities Controls Specialist

Location: Anaheim, California

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Understands and practices safety procedures per NFPA 70e and OSHA.
  • Reads and translates electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and P&IDs,
  • Understands and applies electrical standards including NEC, and UL508a.
  • Actively participates in design reviews, installation, and system commissioning.
  • Can diagnose instrumentation malfunctions and correct wiring issues.
  • Build, install, terminate, and repair electrical and controls panels.
  • Uses hand tools, portable power tools, machine tools, and electrical meters .
  • Develops and maintains relationships with engineering staff, technicians, and electricians. Maintains inventory of tools and parts.
  • Recommends system improvements and promotes energy savings.
  • Demonstrates initiative and drive when troubleshooting components or systems.
  • Design, program, test, and commission control system for Energy Management Systems using Carrier Comfort Works and I-Vue.
  • Provide installation support, start-up, commissioning and turnover to In-house teams.
  • Other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Minimum 2 years of field experience and continuing education in controls and automation. Ability to read one-line diagrams, P&IDs, wiring schematics.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work on multiple levels, catwalks, ladders, roofs, and in extreme temperatures.
  • Self-driven with a strong desire to learn.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills.
  • Strong problem solving / analytical skills and time management / organizational skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.
