Summary: Performs Troubleshooting maintenance, and repairs for specific departments. Including: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic.  Is knowledgeable in procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field or in a related area. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.

Duties would include:
Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools *

Provide maintenance and repairs on compressed air systems including diagnostics to determine causes for malfunctions by conducting inspections among buildings *

 Mechanically and electrically set up, maintain, and troubleshoot custom manufacturing equipment * Performs minor plumbing maintenance (replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, etc.) *

 Identify and requisition needed replacement parts and supplies * Work with other mechanics and engineers to establish and develop solid assembly techniques and solutions * Create and/or maintain a positive relationship with outside vendors and consultants * Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance * Execute all assigned projects and maintain all equipment in a safe manner following OSHA and CALOSHA guidelines. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.

Performs preventive maintenance in equipment and corrects or reports sub-standard conditions. Studies machine parts or specifications to determine type and compatibility. Service machines periodically to assure all functions and calibrations are as per manufacturer recommendations. Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.

Works with factory technicians and engineers in repairs, upgrades and retrofits as requested, communicates well in technical terms with internal and external peers. 

Technical skills

General handyman skills, Basic industrial / commercial electricity, Knowledge of building systems. Knowledge of industrial utilities. Basic mechanical systems. Basic pneumatics. Basic hydraulics.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Education and/or Experience: Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College or Trade- Technical School Certificate. Experience in Injection Molding and automation. Knowledge of Electrical/ Hydraulic controls, PLC, pumps, motors and drives.
