Volt Workforce Solutions is partnering with a large aerospace manufacturing organization in search of a dynamic Facilities/EH&S Manager .

Job Summary
The Facilities /EH&S Manager is responsible for maintaining business continuity through reducing injuries/health risks and developing systems that keep the building and equipment running smoothly. The Facilities/EH&S Manager is responsible for championing all aspects of EH&S and for developing, planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining all health, safety and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for our employees. The Facilities/EH&S Manager ensures that TA Aerospace meets all local, state, federal and corporate regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Drive EH&S culture towards risk-mitigation-based thinking which results in a decrease of Recordable Injuries YoY. Champion site safety programs.
Maintain Facility security systems, HVAC systems, and infrastructure
Develop and sustain building and equipment maintenance practices and systems.
Lead safety and environmental compliance initiatives to ensure that site is poised and prepared for regulatory audits and inspections at all times. Interface with regulatory authorities during audits and inspections. Primary point of contact for all EH&S related audit functions.
Participate in incident/accident reporting and lead investigations for incident/accidents and ensure timely completion of RCCA.
Conduct Risk Assessments and Job Hazard Analysis for existing and new processes and conditions. Detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Environmental Management System Owner. Maintain associated manuals and procedures for ISO14001 compliance. Monitor and report progress of ongoing environmental initiatives. Host recertification audits
Develop and monitor EH&S and Facilities driver measures and critical performance indicators. Provide advice and counsel on EH&S and Facilities issues to President and Senior Staff.

Schedule and document routine and preventative maintenance activities. Plan and execute non-routine maintenance/repair activities with urgency.
Manage, coach and guide maintenance and EH&S department personnel.
Formulate policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory and health and safety requirements.
Develop budget and monitor actual monthly financial performance. Provide management reports as required on maintenance, facilities, and environmental compliance.
Assist in the preparation of annual capital budget and any preparation of Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs).
Fully support Lean Manufacturing initiatives throughout the facility including Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities.
Collaborate with all other Managers and demonstrate consistent results as an exemplary team player and problem solver.

Broad understanding of federal, state and local regulations and ability to translate concerns into a risk assessment and/or an effective action plan.
Experienced working with regulatory agencies such as DOE, DOT, AQMD, EPA, and Cal/OSHA. Knowledge of environmental and health and safety regulations.
Strong experience in all aspect of EH&S management.
Leadership ability, results oriented, able to manage conflict, influence without authority and assume responsibility.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to document programs, reports, and policies. Ability to present to groups, train employees, and lead meetings.
Prior experience in process improvement/LEAN/Six Sigma is a plus
Excellent responsiveness and customer focus in a fast-paced three-shift environment
Strong experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with ADP Payroll Software and HR systems. Experience with maintenance management software (MicroMain).
Knowledge of building codes, permitting, and facilities related regulations.
Experience with and knowledge of complex electrical and mechanical systems/equipment.
Experience with elastomers, plastics, chemicals and metal forming preferred.
Experience in supervision and training employees.

Experience/Previous Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering or similar field from a four-year college or university.
Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
5+ years of EH&S Management at a similar sized manufacturing facility experience in facilities management.
Facilities and maintenance management experience strongly preferred.
OSHA General Industry Certification, CPR, First Aid Certifications, and Safety Professional credentials (CSP, CMIOSH, ASP, GSP, CIH).
HazWopper Certification preferred.
Experience working with a union is preferred.
