Job Description

  • Support Reliability and Product Development Engineering by evaluating, documenting, and presenting findings resulting from reliability and other exploratory testing.
  • Perform detailed mechanical and electrical root cause analysis of field and internal failures of electronic and opto-electronic devices and systems.
  • Present statistical analysis of discovered failure modes.
  • Work with designers to resolve failures and articulate them directly with internal teams.
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence of anomalies and support implementation efforts.
  • Utilize detailed data analysis methods to correlate customer failures with internal production data to help understand root cause, risk, and exposure.
  • Provide product technical expertise and support to manufacturing and partners.
  • Partner with engineering and operations to define and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements & Preferences

  • Must be a "hands on" individual able to tear down and analyze electronic devices.
  • Computer literacy and experience with spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Must have experience in Training and/or experience with soldering/desoldering.
  • J-STD or similar credentials are preferred.
  • Understanding of commercial mechanical assembly is preferred.
  • Experience in injection molding techniques preferred.
  • Understanding of advanced measurement techniques and equipment including CMM and/or x-ray highly desired.
  • Experience with optical devices is a plus.

Education

  • BSEE, BSME, or related technical degree and experience in test and/or troubleshooting of electronic devices.
