Job Description

Medical Device Field Service: Lasik and Cataract equipment

Pay:   $ based on experience

Orlando, FL.    Metro Area Hospitals.

Job Summary:

  • Provides product installation, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance (repairs) services on medical equipment in a hospital setting.  The primary medical devices will be with Laser based medical devices

Essential Functions:

  • Provides multi-step troubleshooting support on assigned service calls.
  • Participates in the creation of technical bulletins and service procedures.
  • Actively involved in continuous improvement
  • Participates in an on call rotation to respond to urgent service calls outside of normal business hours.
  • May have lead responsibilities for one or more field support persons.
  • Assist in parts shipments as needed

Required Technical Competencies:

  • Must have experienced with Laser based medical devices
  • Ability to troubleshoot to the FRU level
  • Experience servicing electro-mechanical products
  • Experience with Lasik and cataract equipment a plus
  • Experience with optical products a plus
  • Experience with servicing products with complicated wiring harnesses and sensitive electronic components
  • Familiar with the use of common service tools including:  vacuum/pressure meter, frequency counter, and digital multimeter.

Education and Experience

  • Must have experienced with Laser based medical devices
  • Associates or Technical degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a minimum of 4 years related experience is required.
  • Experience in healthcare technology and system deployment & delivery.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be comfortable working in a hospital setting.  PPE will be provided as needed.
