Field Service Technician in Irvine, CA at Volt

Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician for our client located in Los Angeles, CA  and the San Francisco Bay Area for a temp-to perm contract.  Our client is a global 3rd party onsite maintenance provider, specializing in corrective and preventative maintenance field service programs — as well as rolling out on installation, integration and product upgrades for manufacturers across multiple industries.  Specifically, this role deals with printers and copier maintenance.  This role will perform product installation, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance (repairs) services on equipment.

Essential Functions:

1. Provides multi-step troubleshooting support on assigned service calls.
2. Participates in the creation of technical bulletins and service procedures.
3. Actively involved in continuous improvement
4. Participates in an on call rotation to respond to urgent service calls outside of normal business hours.
5. May have lead responsibilities for one or more field support persons.
6. Assist in parts shipments as needed

Required Technical Competencies:

1. Ability to troubleshoot to the field replacement unit level
2. Experience servicing electro-mechanical products
3. Experience with servicing products with complicated wiring harnesses and sensitive electronic components; familiar with the use of common service tools including:  Soldering tools, Multi-meters, etc.

Education and Experience

1. Associates or Technical degree required.
2. 2 Years of experience in the Field Service Industry
3. Must have reliable transportation. Willing to travel 80%+
4. Networking skills, such as knowledge of IP and networks
5. Must pass a background check and drug screen
